While young adults have fewer age-related concerns, their active lifestyle can be the cause of avoidable health problems. It is important to have a veterinarian exam and vaccinate your pet yearly. This plan includes two complete exams each year (6 months apart) a complete series of indoor vaccines and parasite screen. The parasite screen tests your cat or dog's feces for any sign of internal parasites, including tapeworms and roundworms. (Roundworms are classified a zoonotic disease and can be spread to humans.) Additionally, dogs on the Young Adult Wellness plan receive a heartworm test. Further testing for cats and dogs include a blood screen focusing on the kidneys, liver, a complete blood cell count, and diabetes screen (feline, canine).
